A waterless plug-in diffuser in a hallway socket beside a console table

Plug-in diffusers ranked: 1 clear winner and an honest look at the field

How we test

Every diffuser we review runs in a real home for at least 2 weeks: kitchens that smell of last night's dinner, hallways with draughts, bedrooms that need to stay subtle.

We measure what brands will not: running cost per hour of scent, how far a claimed coverage figure stretches in practice, and what refills cost over a year.

Where a product comes from a brand we have a commercial relationship with, we say so plainly. Read our disclosure and testing process.
